Mercedes-Benz reveals F 015 Luxury in Motion concept at CES 2015

Described as a self-driving luxury sedan.

At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed their vision of future motoring luxury – the egg-shaped Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion concept.

Billed as a “future self-driving luxury sedan” the Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion concept previews a host of new technologies that is aimed to revolutionize everyday motoring. With extensive use of CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) and other lightweight materials, it weighs 40% lighter than a similarly sized vehicle. At 5,220 mm in length, 2,018 mm in width and 1,524 mm in height, the concept is as long as an S-Class LWB, but wider and taller.

The large dimensions, omission of the B-pillar and short overhangs allowed Mercedes-Benz to integrate a lounge-like cabin that features four rotating seats to allow occupants to interact with each other face-to-face while the car drives itself to the destination. When passengers open the doors, the seats swing outwards by 30 degrees for easy entry and egress.

Power for the F 015 Luxury in Motion concept comes from a next generation plug-in hydrogen fuel cell electric setup that promises a staggering range of 1,100 km. The two rear-mounted electric motors produce a combined output of 268 bhp and 398 Nm, which help the concept sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 200 km/h.

2015 Honda N-Box mini MPV to be showcased at Tokyo Auto Salon – Japan

Prices to start at 1,270,000 Yen onward. 

Honda’s kei car, the N-Box, is said to have undergone some changes for the 2015 model. The vehicle will be showcased at the upcoming 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon. Prices for the base model start at 1,270,000 Yen and go all the way up to 1,670,000 for the top-spec G-Turbo L package version .

As for the changes on the new version, reports say that it will get LED foglamps, smoked (black) taillamps, updated bumper and grille design. Changes continue inside the cabin, the navigation package is set to be standard now, while the instrument panel has changed as well.

The exterior colour range consists of 11 shades, out of which three are new for the 2015 model. Being a kei car, it’ll continue to be powered by a 660 cc engine, although the final specs for the 2015 model aren’t out yet. Needless to mention, both naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions will be available, and the engines in the new version can be more efficient by up to 0.5 km/l.

Volvo S60 Cross Country revealed

Swedish car maker Volvo now appears to be rewriting the history books, with a sedan-based crossover. Called the Volvo S60 Cross Country, the vehicle boasts added ground clearance and the capacity to scale bad terrain.

Volvo S60 Cross Country shares its underpinnings with the S60 sedan, but comes with high profile tyres and a 65 mm increase in ride height.

To be showcased at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (Detroit Auto Show), the S60 Cross Country continues with the underpinnings of the regular S60 sedan. As before the car is 4,635 mm long, 2,097 mm wide, and 1,484 mm tall, but now offers 65 mm of increase in ride height.

The exterior appearance is given a little update to differentiate it from S60, and justify its crossover sedan status. The increase in ride height is apparent, the front and rear get a skid-plate like treatment on the bumpers, there’s an added skirt on the sides, and the wheel arches are now black plastic items. It runs a suitable two-tone theme, with parts like rear view mirrors covered in black instead of the body colour.

The S60 Cross Country will be offered with both 18-inch and 19-inch wheels (both running high profile tyres), and depending on the market, will be made available in all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive versions. Engine options will be the same as the S60’s, and a D4 diesel powered all-wheel drive will also be offered.

Sales begin this summer, with all-wheel drive optional.

Volvo says the vehicle will be available to order by early summer, and more details should be available as the car makes its debut in Detroit. An India-arrival is yet to be announced, but considering it’s got the right ingredients for the mixed road conditions that our country offers (varying from great to downright horrible), it looks like a very decent proposition.

We were the fastest custermer who bough a car at the showroom. when the car arrived we went to pick it up at about 5.30p.m. Something caught my eye suddenly that there were swirl mark/spider web(round makes coursed by pressing a polishing machine to hard on the car to get a fast result of shine). We did complain about this to the agent who sold us the car . Suddenly, a interrupting monkey who is one of the agent at Wearnes Auto. She suddenly complaint that in her "THREE YEARS OF WORKING WITH VOLKSWAGEN SHE NEVER HAD A CUSTOMER WHICH COMPLAINT ABOUT SWIRL MARKS ON A CAR BEFORE". Bab 1: Poster Misteri.

Novel Wira Persona Avatari bab satu mengisahkan enam orang remaja, Adeen, Anas, Aina, Pauline, Anjali, dan Zuriani berjalan ke arah bilik persalinan sementara yang dibina khas bersempena dengan Pertandingan Avatari Kebangsaan kali kesepuluh yang diadakan di kompleks beli-belah Anggun. Mereka perlu bersiap semula untuk meneruskan cabaran terakhir yang akan bermula pada jam 3.00 petang. Adeen terpandang dua orang lelaki yang mencurigakan di dalam bilik persalinan itu. Seorang lelaki Cina bernama Ah Kong dan seorang lagi lelaki India bernama Samy. Baju-baju khas Pertandingan Avatari yang sedang dibelek oleh mereka itu dicampakkan ke lantai. Mereka hendak berlari tetapi dihalang oleh remaja berenam itu. Suasana menjadi tegang dan cemas. Samy mengeluarkan sebilah pisau, tetapi Adeen dan Anas dengan pantas menyerang dan berjaya menahan Samy dengan kemahiran silat mereka. Ah Kong hendak lari tetapi dihalang oleh Aina. Ah kong mengeluarkan sepucuk pistol lalu menembak Aina. Aina tersungkur ke lantai. Ah Kong meluru keluar dan melepaskan diri. Ho Shao Long memeriksa tempat tembakan di bahu Aina. Dalam keadaan yang kritikal itu, Aina menjadi semakin lemah. Fikiran Aina melayang-layang ke masa lepas. Selepas itu, Aina pengsan di pangkuan ibunya. Aina merupakan seorang murid yang cekal dan tekun. Walaupun pada waktu rehat, Aina masih berada di dalam kelasnya untuk menyiapkan kerja sekolahnya. Kemudian, Zuriani kawan sekelasnya tiba. Zuriani mengajak Aina keluar untuk melihat poster yang baru ditampalkan di papan kenyataan di kantin. Aina sangat teruja dan terus bergegas ke kantin.

Bab 2: Kamar Bicara.

Aina tidak sabar hendak memberitahu abangnya, Anas tentang suatu berita penting. Sekembalinya Anas, Aina terus mendapatkan abangnya. Anas kelihatan muram kerana pasukan hoki sekolahnya kalah. Anas seperti tidak berminat untuk mendengar berita yang hendak disampaikan oleh Aina. Namun, apabila Aina menyebut “Avatari”, Anas menjadi teruja. Pertandingan Avatari Kebangsaan kali kesepuluh sudah diumumkan. Anas terkenang akan ayah mereka yang menginginkan mereka menjadi juara Avatari seperti beliau dulu. Ayah mereka menjadi juara kebangsaan Pertandingan Avatari pertama sepuluh tahun dulu. Aina terdiam seketika apabila nama ayah mereka disebut. Hal ini demikian kerana ekspedisi penyelidikan misteri di Laut Andaman. Aina sangat merindui ayahnya.

Pada malamnya, Anas dan Aina asyik melayari laman web Avatari untuk mendapatkan maklumat yang lengkap tentang pertandingan yang akan diadakan itu. Kedua-dua beradik itu berbincang dan merancang untuk menyertai Pertandingan Avatari. Melalui “Kamar Bicara”, mereka bermain permainan video secara interaktif melalui watak avatar, iaitu watak tiga dimensi janaan komputer. Dalam salah satu interaksi itu, Anas telah terlibat dalam satu sesi perdebatan dengan seorang gadis Jepun, Aya Morita dari sebuah kafe siber di kawasan hiburan Tokyo. Perdebatan antara Anas melalui avatar Hang Tuah dan Aya Morita berlarutan sehingga jam 1.00 pagi

Bab 3: Pasukan Zamrud II.

Anas dan Aina membaca risalah dan borang pertandingan berulang kali. Mereka sedang memikirkan bagaimana hendak mendapatkan komputer realiti maya dan perisian Avatari. Harga sebuah komputer realiti maya yang paling murah dalam lingkungan RM50 ribu. Perisian Avatari pula dalam lingkungan RM10 ribu. Mereka memikirkan siapakan yang sanggup menaja mereka. Tiba-tiba Aina teringat akan Pak Cik Ho, rakan sepasukan ayah mereka semasa memenangi Pertandingan Avatari dulu. Anas menelefon Pak Cik Ho di rumah. Pauline, anak perempuan Pak Cik Ho menjawab. Dia memberitahu Anas bahawa Pak Cik Ho tidak ada. Anas meninggalkan pesan supaya Pak Cik Ho menelefonnya kembali. Anas dan Aina pergi ke rumah Pak Cik Ho. Pak Cik Ho memberitahu mereka bahawa Pak Cik Kuppusamy telah menawarkan anaknya, Kumar untuk menyertai pasukan Avatari Anas dan Aina. Pasukan Avatari Anas dan Aina juga dibenarkan untuk menggunakan komputer realiti maya kepunyaan mereka itu. Mereka memerlukan seorang lahli lagi. Orang yang kelima ini penting kerana dia mesti seorang pengatur cara komputer yang hebat. Aina teringat akan Adeen, anak Profesor Zakri. Aina akan mencuba memujuk Adeen untuk menyertai pasukan Avatari mereka.

Bab 4: Libasan Pari.

Anas, Aina, Pauline, dan Kumar sedang menunggu Adeen di pusat permainan video Game Star. Kumar tidak sabar menunggu ketibaan Adeen. Pauline pula tidak senang dengan sikap Kumar yang panas baran itu. Berlaku konflik kecil antara Pauline dan Kumar. Anas mencuba menenteramkam pertelagahan antara Kumar dengan Pauline. Akhirnya Adeen sampai. Kumar melihat Adeen dengan sinis. Dia tidak yakin terhadap kebolehan Adeen. Aina memperkenalkan Kumar kepada Adeen. Seperti biasa, Kumar menunjukkan sikap egonya terhadap Adeen dengan tindakannya yang teragak-agak untuk bersalaman dengan Adeen. Seterusnya Aina memperkenalkan Pauline kepada Adeen.

Mereka berlima pergi berjumpa dengan Pak Cik Tan, pengurus pusat permainan video Game Star untuk mendengar taklimat daripada beliau. Pak Cik Tan seorang pekerja yang setia kepada majikannya, iaitu Encik Ho Shao Long. Semasa melihat komputer Avatari yang akan digunakan dalam pertandingan nanti, Kumar menyatakan tidak mahu terlibat dalam pertandingan itu kerana tidak yakin terhadap komputer yang kelihatan antik itu. Kumar menarik diri. Semua orang menjadi bingung dengan tindakan Kumar itu.

Bab 5: Senteri Muda.

Anas, Aina, Pauline, dan Adeen menjalani latihan senaman silat di bawah bimbingan Cikgu Nisah, seorang guru silat dan bekas sarjan komando. Latihan silat ini sebagai persiapan mereka untuk menghadapi Pertandingan Avatari yang penuh dengan halangan, cabaran, dan muslihat.

Ho Shao Long datang untuk meninjau perkembangan Pasukan Zamrud II membuat latihan permainan Avatari. Adeen cuba menerangkan kepada Pak Cik Ho sebab-sebab CPU Voltra yang canggih milik Pak Cik Ho itu perlu diubah suai lagi. Hal ini demikian kerana CPU tersebut masih lemah mengawal pergerakan avatar ketika bertempur. Pak Cik Ho akui akan kelemahan yang terdapat pada komputernya itu. Adeen mencadangkan cip mikroelektrik yang lebih hebat daripada cip Voltra milik Pak Cik Ho, iaitu prototaip cip Alif yang baru dihasilkan oleh MIMOS Berhad yang berkelajuan 100 gigahertz. Pak Cik Ho akui akan penerangan Adeen itu.

Bab 6: Ribut Dalam Cawan.

Semasa Adeen mengubah suai mesin Avatari, Anas dan Pauline pergi makan di restoran McDonalds di seberang jalan yang bertentangan dengan pusat permainan video Game Star. Mereka berbincang untuk mencari ahli baru sebagai pengganti Kumar. Pauline mencadangkan supaya mereka memujuk Kumar untuk kembali menyertai pasukan Avatari mereka. Namun, Anas tidak bersetuju kerana bagi Anas, Kumar terlalu angkuh. Anas dan Pauline teringat akan pesanan Cikgu Nisah berhubung kitar hayat pasukan dalam sesi strategi pertempuran.

Mereka kembali ke pusat permainan video Game Star. Anas lalu di behagian permainan video Robot War. Banyak remaja berkumpul di situ. Anas ternampak seorang gadis India sedang tekun mengendalikan mesin permainan Robot War. Dia sedang bersaing dengan beberapa orang remaja lelaki dalam permainan Robot War melalui mesin yang dirangkaikan. Akhirnya, gadis India itu yang bernama Anjali berjaya mengalahkan remaja-remaja lelaki itu. Anas memberitahu Pauline bahawa dia hendak berjumpa dengan ahli kelima Pasukan Zamrud II. Anas mendekati Anjali. Pauline berasa tidak senang hati dengan tindakan Anas itu.

Bab 7: Latihan Termpur

Zuriani merajuk terhadap Ama kerana sejak akhir-akhir ini Ama telah jarang-jarang bertemu dengannya. Sejak Ama mendaftar untuk memasuki Pertandingan Avatari, dia sudah tidak ada masa untuk sahabat karibnya itu. Ama mengakui bahawa memang dia terlalu sibuk sejak memasuki Pertandingan Avatari. Untuk memujuk hati kawannya itu, Ama mengajak Zuriani menyertainya dalam Pertandingan Avatari. Walaupun ahli pasukan Avatari Ama sudah ada lima orang, tetapi Zuriani boleh ikut serta sebagai ahli pasukan simpanan. Untuk itu, Zuriani perlu ikut sama berlatih. Zuriani bersetuju.

Pada suatu pagi, Anas, Adeen, Pauline, Ama, Anjali, dan Zuriani menjalani latihan kembara di kawasan bukit-bukau dan belukar. Semasa berehat, Ama mengorek rahsia Anjali tentang sebab dia menggunakan nama “Anjali” padahal nama sebenarnya ialah Laksmini. Anjali kemudiannya mengimbas kembali peristiwa yang menyebabkan dia bersetuju untuk menyertai Pasukan Zamrud II. Anjali sebenarnya telah kalah kepada Anas dalam peristiwa cabar-mencabar dalam permainan video Robot War.

Setélah keluar dan kawasan bukit-bukau dan belukar, mereka beriatih tempur pula di tepi pantai dengan bimbingan Cikgu Nisah. Cikgu Nisah mengajarkan beberapa strategi pertempuran untuk mengalahkan musuh. Pauline dipasangkan dengan Anjali untuk latihan tempur. Semasa latihan silat, Cikgu Nisah mendapati Pauline dan Anjali betul-betul bergaduh. Selepas latihan, Cikgu Nisah memanggil Pauline. Cikgu Nisah tahu bahawa Pauline cemburu akan Anjali yang rapat dengan Anas. Cikgu Nisah menasihati Pauline tentang cara hendak menambat hati lelaki berdasarkan pengalamannya sendiri.

Bab 8: Cabaran Bermula

Pagi Sabtu. Para penonton sudah mula berkumpul di hadapan skrin besar di ruang legar Kompleks Beli-belah Anggun. Pengacara terkenal, Halim melalui avatarnya, muncul di skrin besar. Penonton memberikan tepukan yang gemuruh. Halim mengumumkan bahawa PertandinganAvatari ialah pertandingan kembara atau adventure game bagi makhluk janaan komputer yang dipanggil avatar. Pertandingan ini disertai oleh beberapa pasukan dan seluruh dunia. Halim memberikan keterangan dan arahan kepada para peserta. Dalam pusingan pertama, setiap pasukan yang ingin ke pusingan kedua mestilah mencari sebuah pasu emas yang tersorok dalam ruang siher misteri pertama. Pasu emas itu mengandungi teka-teki untuk pusingan kedua. Sebelum pertandingan bermula, Halim memperkenalkan peserta dan Malaysia, iaitu Pasukan Zamrud II, Pasukan Harimau Kumbang, Kumpulan Sinaran, dan Pasukan Aura Suci. Para penonton memberikan tepukan.

Pertandingan bermula. Adeen bertindak sebagai pengawal mesin permainan Avatari yang berada di bilik khas. Adeen mempunyai peranan penting kerana dia bertugas memantau setiap pergerakan pemain dan berfungsi menyalurkan arahan, makiumat, dan sebarang keperluan lain sernasa pertandingan.

Dalam pusingan pertama, Pasukan Zamrud II menggunakan persona Badang untuk mewakili mereka, iaitu watalc wira dalam Sejarah Melayu. Ruang siber bagi saringan pertama Pertandingan Avatari ialah zaman prasej arah. Avatar-avatar pasukan yang mengambil bahagian berhadapan dengan dinosaur-dinosaur yang besar dan ganas. Pelbagai halangan dan cabaran yang dilalui oleh avatar Pasukan Zamrud II. Pasukan Zarnrud II sudah berjaya memperoich pasu emas yang terdapat di dalam buah cempedak aneh itu. Mereka sudah hampir pasti untuk layak ke pusingan kedua. Namun malangnya, buah cempedak aneh yang mengandungi pasu emas di dalamnya telah dirampas oleh Pasukan Aura Suci.

Bab 9: Juara Songsang

Ahli-ahli Pasukan Zamrud II tidak menyangka bahawa Pasukan Aura Suci bertindak jahat dengan merampas buah cempedak aneh tersehut. Mereka sungguh kecewa. Tiha-tiba Adeen mem.beritahu mereka bahawa cabaran Pasukan Zamrud II helum berakhir dan rnengarahkan mereka mencari pasu emas itu d atas Ian tai terowong. Pasukan Aura Suci telab dibatalkan penyertaan mereka kerana didapati menggunakan kaedah tidak bermoral terhadap Pasukan Zamrud II. Para ahli Pasukan Zamrud II segera berpatah balik dan mencari pasu emas itu. Pauline menemukan pasu emas itu. Dengan itu pasukan Zamrud II telah berjaya ke pusingan kedua. J uruacara Halim muncul di skrin sekali lagi. Halim mengumumkan hahawa dalam pusingan kedua ini, para peserta akan memasuki ruang siber misteri kedua untuk mencari pelbagai objek harta karun berdasarkan petunjuk yang akan diperoleh daripada teka silang kata yang diselesaikan oleh mereka.

Para ahli pasukan Pertandingan Avatari sudah bersedia untuk memulakan pusingan kedua. Semasa pertandingan baru berlangsung, Adeen mendapati salah satu cip mikroelektronik penting mesin Avatari sudah hilang. Anggota Pasukan Zamrud 11 mula resah. Adeen yang lebih tertekan. Tiba-tiba Adeen teringat akan Pak Cik Tan ada membawa papan litar gantian dan cip yang sama pasti ada di atas papan litar itu. Adeen bernasib baik kerana papan litar itu masih ada dan lengkap dengan cip mikroelektronik. Adeen segera memasang cip itu.

Para ahli Pasukan Zamrud II sudab bersedia untuk berjuang. Mereka telah mendapat jawapan kepada teka silang kata, iaitu “buaya”. Jawapan itu tepat dan avatar Pasukan Zamrud II memasuki kawasan padang pasir. Mereka berada dalam zaman Mesir purba, iaitu pada zaman Firaun. Setelah melepasi halangan daripada ulat besar, mereka akhirnya berjaya sampai ke kawasan bangunan yang luas. Di situ mereka berjaya menemukan buaya emas. Adeen mengarahkan ahli pasukannya pergi ke Kuii Abu Simbel untuk mengutip lebih banyak harta karun. Pasukan Zamrud II berjaya ke pusingan ketiga.

Bab 10: Malaysia Serba Boleh

Dalam pusingan ketiga, cabarannya ialah bertanding permainan tradisi. Setiap pasukan akan bertanding dengan pasukan lain untuk menentukan pasukan mana yang layak ke pertandingan akhir. Setiap pasukan mesti menguasai sebanyak mungkin permainan. Pauline memilih memanah. Ama memilih congkak. Anas rnemilih catur. Anjali pula memilih mahjong. Apabila pusingan ketiga tamat, Jepun menduduki tempat pertama, Rusia di tempat kedua, Australia di tempat ketiga, dan Amerika Syarikat di tempat keempat. Malaysia herkongsi markah dengan Thailand dan Republik Rakyat China. Oleh sebab terdapat tiga pasukan yang layak, maka satu pemecah sen akan diadakan.

Halim muncul untuk menentukan pasukan mana yang mendapat tempat kelima untuk ke pertandingan akhir. Setiap pasukan akan diberi satu peluang untuk meneka apa yang ada di dalam genggaman Halim. Thailand meneka guli. China meneka wang syiling. Malaysia melalui Ama meneka belalang. Tekaannya tepat. Pasukan Zamrud II layak ke pertandingan akhir.

Bab 11 :Jutawan Muda

Keadaan di bilik persalinan masih tegang walaupun Ama telah dibawa ke hospital. AhJi Pasukan Zamrud II tidak dapat bersama dengan Ama di hospital kerana perlu meneruskan cabaran pada peringkat akhir. Pada mulanya mereka hendak menarik dir tetapi Pak Cik Ho menghalang kerana keadaan Ama sudah stabil. Mereka harus memikirkan kepentingan negara. Mereka merupakan satu-satunya pasukan Malaysia yang berjaya ke peringkat akhir. Anas masih tidak berpuas hati terhadap dua orang penceroboh yang memasuki bilik persalinan mereka. Memandangkan Ama telah ditembak, Zuriani menjadi pengganti kepada Ama.

Semasa pusingan akhir hendak bermula, Pak Cik Tan masih lagi berada di dalam bulk persalinan. Dia sedang memeriksa beg-beg ahli Pasukan Zamrud II. Dia mengesyaki sesuatu. Dia mendapati cip mikroelektronik yang hilang itu ada di dalam salah satu beg ahli Pasukan Zamrud II namun dia tidak dapat mengenal pasti pemilik beg itu.

Bab 12: Perangkap Musang

Anjali melakukan perbuatan itu kerana dipaksa oleh abangnya, iaitu Muthu, yang merupakan ketua samseng yang hendak membeli pusat permainan video Game Star, tetapi Pak Cik Ho menolaknya. Pak Cik Tan bersimpati terhadap Anjali.

Sementara itu, Aina sudah tiga hari berada di wad kelas pertama. Semua datang melihat keadaannya di hospital kecuali Anjali. Aina menjadi sangat teruja apabila mendengar berita melalui televisyen, iaitu pasukan penyelidik yang diketuai oleh ayahnya yang hilang di Laut Andaman telah ditemui dengan selamat. Doanya telah dimakbulkan Tuhan.

Czech Republic – 2014 Skoda Yeti facelift enters production

The 2014 Skoda Yeti facelift has just commenced production at the brand’s Kvasiny plant in the Czech Republic. The new Yeti is made alongside the refreshed 2014 Superb and the Skoda Roomster and about 4,500 employees are involved in making these cars.

As our readers are aware, the Yeti facelift had its public premiere at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Yeti is now branched into two distinct models – the 2014 Skoda Yeti Outdoor and the 2014 Skoda Yeti Style.

The Yeti Style has been designed a bit more conservatively with body-colored bumpers, skid guards and side moldings. Skoda says that this version of the Yeti will appeal to people seeking an urban crossover with a high ground clearance, a large boot and better road visibility.

The Yeti Outdoor on the other hand is made to look rugged with plastic inserts in the side moldings and the bumpers, an underride guard and silver skid guards.

The facelifted Yeti has been branched into two models – the Outdoor and the Style.

Mechanically however, both variants are the same and Skoda offers seven engine options (four diesel and three petrol) on the Yeti. Depending on the engine, gearbox options come in the form of a 6-speed manual, 6-speed DSG or a 7-speed DSG transmission.

Spied – Nissan Evalia facelift bearing the new family face spotted in China

The Nissan NV200 facelift (NV200 is sold as the Evalia in India) has been spied in China wearing a new grille and bumper. Two cars are seen in these images, one getting the V-Shaped grille that is an important feature in Nissan’s new model family, and another with a full chrome grille with a new and aggressively designed bumper. The wheels have also changed.

The first type has a new chrome grille, new bumper with a larger central intake and bigger pockets.

The second model retains the current car’s bumper and sports a V-Shaped grille.

Autohome is reporting that the facelift will launch with a 1.6-liter engine that puts out 113 hp and 150 Nm. A CVT option would also be included for the first time on the NV200.

Like the Innova facelift, the rear is heavy on the reflectors and chrome content.

Global models sold in the Chinese market often have local facelift programs. The Suzuki A-Star, Swift, Honda Accord, Honda City, etc continue selling in China well beyond their lifecycle, receiving repeated cosmetic updates. The Evalia facelift could be a local program or originate from the Chinese market to reach global markets next year.

The NV200 was shown at the Tokyo Motor Show of 2007 and has stayed the same since.

Hindustan Motors to launch Ambassador sub-4m version next fiscal in India

Hindustan Motors will launch a sub-4m version of the Ambassador in the next fiscal year, the company’s CEO Uttam Bose revealed yesterday. He was speaking to the media in Kolkata at the market launch of the Ambassador Encore, a BS4-compliant variant of the unstoppable Amby.

Here’s a speculative artist rendering of the sub-4m Ambassador launching next fiscal year.

Bose commented that due to its size, the smaller variant would attract lower excise duties. He added that a name for the compact car had not been decided still. We take for granted that the sub-4m Amby would use the same BS4 1.5-liter diesel engine that outputs 48.6hp@4,000 RPM and 112.5NM@2,000 RPM. In contrast, the BS3 edition makes an ungainly 35.5hp and 73Nm.
Meanwhile launched at 4.98 lakhs, the Ambassador Encore comes with power steering, power windows and air conditioner for higher passenger comfort. Over 450 units have been booked so far, with an optimistic Bose expecting 2,000 units to be sold per month with wider availability.

The Encore’s 1.5L engine offers more grunt than the BS3 edition. This would naturally find application on the sub-4m variant as well.

The aforementioned features along with a digital tripmeter, mobile charger and music system, should duly be transferred to the cabin of the sub-4m variant.

China-made Qoros 3 Sedan gets a 5-star Euro NCAP; Safer than a Mercedes C-Class!

The Qoros 3 Sedan, the first vehicle from Chinese automaker Qoros, has just been tested by the Euro NCAP. And will you believe us if we told you it got a 5-star safety rating? The news does not end there.

The 3 Sedan has scored the best result for Adult Occupant Protection in Euro NCAP’s 2013 program so far! Just to put things in perspective, the 3 Sedan is rated 95% for Adult Occupant Safety, while the current Mercedes C-Class is rated 82%. The Qoros’ 87% Child Occupant safety once again betters the Merc’s 70% and finally pedestrian safety has been rated at 77% for the Qoros while the C-Class manages a paltry 30%!

2015 Ford Focus (facelift)

Here’s a speculative rendering of the 2015 Ford Focus (facelift) which could be shown as early as the Detroit Auto Show next year.
The facelift would align the Focus with newer members of the Ford family such as the EcoSport and the Fiesta, with the Aston Martin style chrome radiator grille as seen on the aforementioned vehicles.

The Focus facelift would be introduced next year, starting with the US at the Detroit Auto Show according to some reports.

The design of the bumper is neater, while the lower intake would be smaller like that of the Focus EV. The rest of the body would remain largely similar to the current Focus.
The handling benchmark of the C-Segment constantly changes hands between the Focus and the Golf, and with the Golf introduced last year, Ford have to make improvements to the chassis to keep it ahead of its all-new rival.

The facelift would be applied to both the hatchback and sedan.

Powertrain options (including the 1-liter Ecoboost engine using which the car set 16 world records) would be optimized for economy gains. The Fiesta’s 1.5-liter diesel engine would also find a place on the Focus facelift’s lineup once its updated.
The car’s interior could be built using improved materials while SYNC would gain extra capabilities. The styling, mechanical and interior updates would be applicable to the four-door and five-door model.

Next-gen Ford S-Max is the best looking MPV ever

The Ford S-Max concept was unveiled at the 2013 IAA in Frankfurt on the 10th of September.

RM Design Blog has now envisioned the production S-Max based on the concept that was shown and straight away you can tell that it is one of the best looking MPVs out there!
What RM Design has done basically is replace the concept elements of the car such as the large wheels, futuristic wing mirrors, LED headlights and the frameless doors with conventional parts, some of which like the wing mirrors, are seen on current Fords.

The S-Max concept which we saw had certain unique details about it. The doors for example, could be opened and closed using a remote control application on a mobile phone. The headlights employed ‘Organic LEDs’, which Ford say offers better flexibility in lighting.
The interiors of the concept were done in ultra-soft leather for the instrument panel while the seats featured a mix of leather and carbon fiber. Additionally, the driver’s seat had an ECG heart rate monitoring system which could automatically trigger an alert to emergency services should the driver have a sudden health condition.

The S-Max concept was powered by the 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, which debuted earlier this year on the Mondeo that was launched in China at the 2013 Auto Shanghai. The market launch of the new S-Max is not until a couple of years and when launched, Ford’s ‘Vignale’ trim level, offering a more upmarket customer experience and product, could also be seen on the family van.

Nissan Terrano to be launched on October 9th in India?

The Nissan Terrano will be launched in India during the first week of October. A few dealers are even specific saying that the Terrano will be launched on October 9th.
Unveiled on August 20th, Nissan India has not made the price announcement for the Terrano, only mentioning that the starting price would be “below INR 10 lakhs”. Pre-bookings for the Terrano commenced on September 1, with the initial booking amount being INR 50,000.

The Terrano’s price will be announced on October 9th.

We also learn from a source that though the car would be launched on October 9th, initial deliveries will commence only by November end. Our source was keen to mention that prices would be in the range of INR 10-14 lakhs.
The Terrano will be available with the same set of engines as the Duster. Which means that you get a single 1.6-liter petrol engine option putting out 104PS which Nissan will offer it in a single ‘XL’ variant, equipped with safety features such as ABS, EBD and brake assist.

The top-end Terrano misses out on steering mounted controls and a touchscreen multimedia system.

The 1.5-liter Renault-sourced K9K diesel engine will be available in two states of tunes of 85PS and 110PS. The 85PS diesel comes with a 5-speed manual while the 110PS version comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
We have also learnt that Nissan India is considering a 4WD version of the Terrano for a future launch. Additional equipment such as steering mounted audio controls and a touchscreen multimedia system are also in the making.

Alert – Maruti to increase prices across lineup, as will Hyundai, GM, Toyota and Tata

Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest car maker, will introduce a price hike from the first week of October. Economic Times reports that the prices will be increased from INR 3,000-10,000, depending on the model and type of fuel the vehicle uses. The weak rupee is the major reason for this price hike.

Prices will be increased across the lineup, which means that even the recently launched Stingray faces a price hike.

Maruti Suzuki’s Chief Operating Officer (Marketing and Sales) Mayank Pareek blames the price hike on increasing input costs and the weakening rupee. He says the health of the auto market wasn’t conducive for a hike, but it is now inevitable.
In January this year, Maruti had hiked prices across its lineup by up to INR 20,000. In the month of September alone, we have seen Hyundai announce a price hike by INR 4,000 to INR 20,000 across its model range (excluding the recently launched Grand i10). In its official statement, Hyundai had also blamed the price hike on the weak rupee.

Apart from the recently launched Grand i10, other Hyundais will have their prices hiked effective October 1.

Joining Hyundai and Maruti are GM India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and even Tata Motors. While Tata has not officially announced a price hike, a company spokesperson said that prices would go up by 1-1.5%.

iPhone 5S release date, news, rumours and price

The iPhone 5S release date is now just days away as Apple confirms its next-generation flagship phone will be formally unveiled on September 10.

With a raft of iPhone 5S rumours having done the rounds in recent week and the phone making a number of premature appearances, invites to a September 10 unveiling have now revealed the iPhone 5S really is on its way. What's more, it is expected that the 5S will be unveiled alongside an all new, budget iPhone 5C.

Here's all you need to know about the iPhone 5S ahead of the phone's official unveiling.

iPhone 5S – Release Date

After months of speculation, Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 5S will be launched on 10 September, next Tuesday. While official invites have confirmed the phone will make an appearance at the company's Cupertino HQ in California, Apple's next flagship phone will reportedly hit retailers just days later. An iPhone 5S release date has been teased as September 20, 10 days after its unveiling.

The news was originally broken by iMore, before being backed-up by the usually-reliable 9to5Mac and TechCrunch. 9to5Mac spoke to a source who has apparently used the device, suggesting it may be someone within Apple.

Apple’s mobile devices are usually available to buy within two weeks of their launches. Our bet is that the iPhone 5S will be available on Friday 20 September. This will make it the exact mirror of the iPhone 5’s launch – which went on sale on Friday 21 September 2013.

Spotlight on Features – New Gold Colour

The most-leaked new feature of recent weeks is a new gold finish. This is the first time we’ve seen a genuinely new shade of iPhone since the first white model – the white iPhone 4 back in 2011.

If you’re imagining gaudy bling, rest assured that it’ll probably look pretty good in the flesh. Leaked photos suggest the gold iPhone 5S will have a light ‘champagne’ finish rather than a vivid gold colour.

Don’t like it? There are no signs of Apple dropping the black and white finishes currently available. It’s also rumoured that the gold iPhone 5S will only come in a ‘premium’ 128GB edition, which seems a shame as it’ll probably cost upwards of £700. 

Spotlight on tech – iPhone 5S fingerprint reader

Earlier this year, it was rumoured that the iPhone 5S will feature a fingerprint scanner as a method of identification. Although initially dismissed by many as an unlikely addition, unearthed iOS 7 code suggests it might actually exist.

The fingerprint reader – if real – will be built into the home button, letting it slide into the phone without forcing any drastic changes in the phone’s design. 

The code suggests the iPhone 5S will ask you to scan your right thumb during the setup process, which will them be used to identify you – presumably cutting down the passwords and such you’ll have to enter. 

It could also be used to load discrete user profiles, which would be particularly useful for iPhones that’ll be used by kids as well as adults. Nice idea, Apple. If it works, that is.

iPhone 5S Design

History suggests the iPhone 5S will have roughly the same design as the iPhone 5. The iPhone 3GS looked a lot like the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 4S was the dead spit of the iPhone 4. Isn’t it a bit soon for a full iPhone redesign?

Some sources do not agree. Commmercial Times suggests the iPhone 5S will have a 4.3-inch screen – 0.3 inches up from the iPhone 5. However, there are plenty of conflicting rumours that suggest Apple will stick with the 4-inch form.

For example, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the iPhone 5S’s design will be near-identical to the current model.

iPhone 5S Camera

Apple will give the iPhone 5S a proper camera refresh this year, having barely updated the camera in the iPhone 5.

The phone is expected to feature a 12-megapixel camera, suggesting it’ll have a different sensor from the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Z, both of which use a 13-megapixel Sony sensor. That’s four megapixels greater than the 8-megapixel sensors used in both the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5.

Just as important, the iPhone 5S will also have an improved lens and a more powerful flash. KGI Securities writes that the phone will have an f/2.0 lens, significantly faster than the f/2.4 lens used in the current model. The flash will also be bumped up from the single-LED type to dual-LED. This should help give the flash more even coverage, which is crucial when taking low-light shots with a flash.

However, come release day the most noticeable change for most people will be the shift from iOS 6 to iOS 7 and its new camera app. iOS 7’s camera interface offers far more features than the stripped-back app of iOS 6.

New additions include active filters for Instagram-style effects. You can also take square photos – perfect for Facebook profile portraits.      

iPhone 5S CPU, RAM and power 

The iPhone 5 has a dual-core 1.3GHz processor. Next to the quad-core Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One that doesn’t sound too powerful.

Apple is taking a different approach to its Android rivals, though. The iPhone 5S will move from a 32-bit ARMv7 architecture to 64-bit ARMv8 architecture – it’s Apple’s main move in the upgrade from an Apple A6 chip (as seen in the iPhone 5) to the Apple A7 type, used here.

KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that it’ll be 20 per cent more efficient than the current Apple A6 chipset. However, there have been relatively few suggestions that the iPhone 5S will actually move to a quad-core chipset. Where we might have expected a consensus on quad-core chip, many suggest the iPhone 5S will have a dual-core CPU. The jury is out.

Most agree that the GPU will get an upgrade from a tri-core PowerVR model to a quad-core one, though.

iPhone 5S Screen

Apple is not going to radically alter the screen size and screen resolution of the iPhone series in the iPhone 5S. The phone will have a 4-inch 1,136 x 640 pixel display, just like the current iPhone.

However, Apple is expected to change the type of screen it uses. Rather than a standard IPS screen, the iPhone 5 will use an IGZO display, a screen type made by Sharp.

IGZO is designed to be more power-efficient than IPS, while retaining great image quality and the good viewing angles expected of an iPhone. The screen array is also thinner than IPS.

iPhone 5S Storage

One of the big questions is - will there be a 128GB iPhone? The only Apple mobile device to get a 128GB edition so far is the full-size iPad.

Of course, in a larger device like that, there's much less of a technological challenge. To get a NAND array small enough to fit into the (doubtless) super-slim iPhone 5S will require much greater miniaturisation.

Sandisk told us earlier this year that it was working on its own tech to make 128GB phones possible. But will it be ready for September?

Some believe so, having suggested Apple will release a 'premium' gold edition of the phone with 128GB storage. 

iPhone 5S Battery

Leaked photos that show what appears to be the iPhone 5S with its rear casing removed, revealing a 5.92Whr unit. This is just a little more powerful than the 5.45Whr battery of the iPhone 5, but if coupled with the power saving features of an IGZO screen then battery life could be substantially improved.

It’s a spec that supports the idea that the iPhone 5S will have the same screen size as the current model.

Early Impressions
The iPhone 5S is likely to be an important, but hardly earth-shattering upgrade to the iPhone 5. Improvements to most elements, including camera and CPU are likely.
